4 Foods To Keep the Skin Hydrated

It’s blogmas day 2 y’alllll!!! Yesterday I spoke at length on how important it is to keep your skin hydrated when the temperatures and humidity drops. I mean it is important all year round but pertinent this time of the year. I also mentioned what products can help switch things up, if you haven’t you can still read.

So today I thought we talk diet. I am sure you’d agree with me that you are what you eat. Some people cannot stand dairy or nuts or sugary foods, as this could make them breakout so badly. Generally we want to keep it healthy and colorful.

Let’s look at some 4 foods that can help with keeping your skin highly hydrated this season

  1. Water-rich fruits such as watermelon(rich in vitamin A), oranges(also rich in Vitamin C), berries(antioxidants which also help fight free radicals). So these fruits are not only great for the hydrating factor but more so for general health of the skin. How about a tinsel smoothie made of watermelon, berries, cucumber and some avocado

  2. Also adding avocados to your meals will be great. They contain monosaturated fats, a healthy source of fats. These fats help to moisturize the skin from inside out. They help to give your skin a supple complexion as well.

  3. Salmon fish is a great source of omega-3. Omega-3 helps to fortify the skins’ barrier thereby preventing moisture loss. Salmon contains a powerful source of antioxidant (astaxanthin) that contributes to hydration and overall skin health.

  4. Lastly cucumbers contains silica a compound that contributes to the health of connective tissues in the skin. Cucumbers are composed mostly of water, making them a great source of hydration.

So these are some foods you can add to your diet. I sure will be making a tinsel smoothie(watermelon, berries and avocado). How will you incorporate these in your diet. Let me know in the comment section.
