7 things to know before starting accutane treatment
The last 4 months have been here and there! OMG I finally went on an Accutane treatment to clear my skin. Before I proceed to all the gist, (why I went on the treatment, what Accutane is, how I adjusted my skin regimen) I just need you all to know that it was not an absolute necessity but because of the lockdown I didn’t quite have access to my usual treatment.
So what should you know before you start this treatment?
It is a prescription! You cannot get it over the counter. For your safety only allow your doctor be it your family or dermatologist put you on the medication.
It could last anywhere 4-12months. Most often you will be on the medication for 6months
If you are a lady, you cannot get pregnant while on the medication and at least after 1month when you complete the medication
There are going to be side effects. In subsequent blogs I’ll dwell on the effects I experienced and possible effects for others
You cant have some cosmetic treatments. So it is important you let your esthetician know when you are on the treatment and even 1month after completing the treatment.
You would possibly have to change your current skin regimen.
YOU NEED AN SPF30!!!!!!!!!
Now that is said, in the next article I will get more into why I did the treatment and what Accutane is.
Remember lets keep it healthy, lets keep it simple for you.
